Therapeutic Pools

The Martfű Thermal SPA Health Center, Swimming Pool, and Wellness Hotel offers group therapeutic swimming sessions for children under 18 years of age, supported by the National Health Insurance Fund (OEP), alongside adult therapeutic treatments.

Age group: 0-18 years

The sessions are held at the following times:	During regular hours: Monday and Wednesday afternoons. During school breaks, every day from 8 AM to 7 PM, according to the group schedule. (Group size: 4-15 people) Group assignments are based on medical conditions and swimming ability.
The number of sessions:	52 hours, 26 weeks. Twice a week, 45 minutes per session. (During school breaks, there is also the possibility for two sessions per day.)

Participation requires a specialist’s recommendation.
The child’s general practitioner or school doctor can refer the child with a referral letter. The treatment can also be prescribed directly by the specialist. Two courses can be prescribed at once. If eligible, a travel voucher can be requested through the referring doctor.

The prescribing doctor must complete a referral and two treatment forms (baby treatment forms).

Deadline for utilizing the treatment:

For one course: Treatment must begin within 90 days from the date of the prescription and can last for 26 weeks.
For two courses: Treatment must be continued immediately.

Control exams: The specialist will provide information on necessary control exams. After completing the course, a check-up should be scheduled with the prescribing doctor within three weeks, and the treatment form must be handed over to the doctor. If the control exam is missed within three weeks, the patient is NOT ELIGIBLE for further treatment.

Treatment interruption: An interruption is allowed once if there is a change in the health condition (e.g., accident, surgery). In such cases, the closed treatment form must be taken to the cashier and handed over to the prescribing doctor, who will issue new treatment forms.

Locations for therapeutic swimming:

Splash pool, teaching pool (90-110 cm), swimming pool, and supplementary treatment for asthmatic patients in the salt cave.

Registration	Before the session starts! At the health fund office, Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM.	Accompanying Person	A parent with medical recommendation can accompany baby swimmers and those in need of assistance. For beginners (young children), a parent can enter with a 20-session pass if necessary. The instructor may request and suggest parental assistance. The special pass allows entry only for the swimming session, and the parent must leave the pool 15 minutes after the session ends.
Arrival	Arrive 15 minutes before the session. Children under 10 should wait in the lobby for the instructor. Check-in at the ticket office before every session. Swimming in the pool is allowed only with the instructor’s presence and permission.	Observation	Parents can observe the first and last session, as well as the last session of every even month, with an entry card. The entry does not allow swimming.
Departure	Departure is mandatory 15 minutes after the session ends.	Equipment	Swimsuit, swim cap, swimming goggles, slippers, towel, bathrobe.
